Includes the rare list of plates printed on green paper, like the wrappers, listing 95 hand-coloured full page engraved plates depicting 120 different animals set against landscapes by J. Giarri. Each illustration has descriptive text beneath the image, and accompanied by text leaves of scientific description of the animal and the appropriate fable. 'The Illustrations follow the style of Alessandri's Animali quadrupedi of 1771-1775, not particularly accurate, but with rather good descriptions by Baschieri' (Wood).
