[Yusuf and Zulaikha.]
"Yusuf and Zulaikha" refers to a medieval Islamic version of the story of the prophet Yusuf and Potiphar's wife which has been for centuries in the Muslim world, and is found in many languages such as Arabic, Persian, Bengali, Turkish, and Urdu. Its most famous version was written in the Persian language by Jami (1414–1492), in his Haft Awrang ("Seven Thrones").

An octavo Judeo-Persian MS version of the oft-told story of Yusuf and Zulaikha. A Quranic verse retold many times in many languages spoken by Muslims, especially in Persian and Urdu. Supplemented by five lovely coloured plates illustrating the story, plus an additional half-page MS coloured drawing of a Jew holding a tablet in Hebrew. It is said that Zulaikha's longing for Yusuf represents the soul's quest for God. In full (cracked) soft brown leather showing signs of wear. Contents are stained throughout, with ink smudges, etc. Coloured plates in order: 1. Plate 1. People and horses. 2. Plate 2. Yusuf and Zulaikha. 3. Plate 3. People before the golden throne. 4.
