FIRST EDITION. Small folio. 91 pp., Frontispiece, 14 hand coloured copper engraved plates by J.S. Weibel, map of Oberland, contemporary boards (teal paper over boards, uncut. Spine defective, title label to (part) spine. The frontispiece and 12 of the 14 plates were published in 1796, and two of the plates and the map were new to this edition: those of the Jungfrau and the glaciers at Grindelwald. The work was published by Ackermann in London in 1812. A very beautiful album of plates of the Oberland, scarce and much sort after (Pettet, Longchamp). This work has been professionally repaired and restored with new endpapers, new inner hinges, and work to spine.
