Views on the Northern and Western Coasts of Sutherland.
Scarce. The aquatints were engraved by F.C. Lewis at 53 Charlotte Street, Portland Place. Elizabeth Leveson Gower, the Duchess of. Sutherland was a gifted artist, painting watercolour landscapes of the Sutherland coast and of Dunrobin Castle, among other subjects. She was also an accomplished oil painter. She drew and etched a series of views in Orkney and the northeast coast of Scotland, which were published between 1805 and 1807.

Folio (18 x 11.5 inches) green cloth folder, red calf gilt title label to upper board. 22 colour lithographed plates on paper mounts; annotated in ink, lower right corner. Loose as issued. Printed list of plates, map, 2pp. Signed letter by the Duke; dated July 19th, 1846, to "My dear Sir Thomas" (Sir Thomas Dick Lauder). Plates drawn by the Duchess of Sutherland and engraved by F.C.
