MAYER, Luigi.
William Watts.
Views in Turkey in Europe and Asia, comprising Romelia, Bulgaria, Wallachia...
RARE. William Watts' fine aquatints were the first to be published after Luigi Mayer's views, and "This work, as far as the plates are concerned, seems to have been substantially the first edition" (Abbey). Engraved by Watts, who was a pupil of Paul Sandby, the first to practice aquatint in England in 1775.
