Turkey and the Tirks; being the present State of the Ottoman Empire.
The author traveled to Turkey to take up a position as a physician at the British Embassy in Constantinople. This describes the overland journey from Jassy in Moldavia to the Danube and then via the Black Sea to Constantinople.

Octavo coloured lithographic frontispiece and five litho plates, of which four are coloured, two maps in original decorated green cloth blind-stamped. With gilt vignette of a Turk on upper board, gilt emblems to spine, blind-stamped to lower board. Bookplate of 'Christopher Tower' to front pastedown. Coloured endpapers. Coloured plates in order: 1.
