Small folio of (2) ff., 50-(1) pp.; green percaline, polychrome decoration on the front cover, gilt edges (publisher's cardboard). Book illustrated with 12 lithographed plates in two tones and colored by A. Lagauchie representing costumes from different countries (Spanish, Moorish, Roman, Swiss, Greek, Turkish, Russian, Chinese, Mexican, American Indian, Scottish, Breton). Good copy; rubbed caps and corners; some pitting and browned text sheets.Binding from the publisher in full green calico, with an attractive polychrome decoration on the upper board. Illustrated with 12 lithographed plates in two colours depicting costumes from various nations. Nice copy, all edges gilt, top and tail of spine and all corners rubbed, some foxing and some pages brown. *Rebinding and restoration work on this book was carried out by Ron Norman of Hartlepool.
