SMITH, Robert.
The Young Artist's Assistant in the Art of Drawing in Water Colour, Exemplified in a course of twenty-nine Progressive Lessons...
The work is set out with an introduction followed by 29 lessons, including such topics as drawing trees, a house, and perspective, before moving on to more complex work involving the use of shade and colour. Little is known of Smith; however, it would appear that he exhibited works at the British Institution between 1823 and 1836 on subjects similar to those illustrated in this book.
