Volume 1: 352 pages; Volume 2: 344 pages. red half-calf over marbled boards, with gilt titles to spine, top edge gilt, uncut, red 'Fleur des Lys' patterned endpapers. Bookplate of "F. Reddaway" to front pastedown. Hinges cracked. A lovely set in fine condition. Slight rubbing to corners. Portrait frontis. 4 woodcut and 20 aquatint plates all hand-coloured and each matched with an uncoloured proof of the plate. As noted: Eight Hundred and seventy copies of this Edition were printed for England and America with the twenty-five illustrations in duplicate, one on plate paper proofs before letters and the other on Whatman paper with titles and colored by hand.
