FIRST EDITION. Hard Cover of full morocco with parallel lines and corner pieces in gilt. Raised bands and lettered in gilt to spine. 4to. (26.5 x 19.5 cm.) Leather rubbed at edges and along the spine, all edges gilt, floral, coloured endpapers, gilt inner dentelles - a small bookplate on inside front pastedown -'Young Ladies' Library of Nazareth' with pocket removal on rep and barely seen whitish residue at the bottom of spine pages are truly beautiful clean and unmarked. The Illuminated Calendar of 1845 is one of the most beautiful of the 1840's illuminated books with hand-coloured title page and 12 full-page hand-coloured illustrations of the months 12 double-side colour printed calendar pages. The illustrations were copied from "The House of Anne of Brittany," a prayer-book preserved in the Bibliotheque Royale of Paris. Coloured plates in order: 1. Title page. 2-5.
