Illustrated with remarkable engraved plates mimicking Mughal imperial art and a folding plate illustrating the Sanskrit language. he Dow published a translation of old Persian tales, and the first two volumes of this history of India derived from the works of the Persian scholar Ferishtam.

Second edition, two large quarto volumes, with a frontispiece in volume one and added [?] illustrations in volume two; table of contents in volume two supplied in facsimile, bound in uniform khaki buckram. No coloured plates. Black title labels to spines and lettered in yellow. Some MS notes to margins, good copy. Plates uncoloured, so not listed.
