The Adventures of Hunch-Back, and the Stories Connected with it (from the Arabian Nights Entertainments.) With illustrative Prints, engraved by William Daniell, from pictures painted by Robert Smirke, R. A. Arabian Nights
The illustrator, Robert Smirke, had become a Member of the Royal Academy in 1793. The engraver, William Daniell, was best known for the eight-volume Oriental scenery (1795-1808) which he and his uncle, Thomas Daniell. Attractive plates.

Folio ( 42.5 x 31 cm) [2] 99 [1] pp. With 17 hand-colored aquatint plates on mounted India-proof paper engraved by William Daniel after Robert Smirke. Nineteenth-century half morocco & cloth rebacked in recent morocco; tooled in gilt; raised spine bands; marbled endpapers; top edges gilt, others untrimmed. FIRST EDITION, thus a large-paper copy, RARE with the plates colored and in an untrimmed state. Some rubbing and soiling to covers; occasional, light, mostly marginal foxing but most images unscathed; very good or better. Coloured plates in order: 1. Hunch-Back & the Tailor. 2. The Supper. 3.
