Oblong folio (28 x 35 cm) Incomplete, with 63 watercolours on wove paper, (some are missing) inserted into an album via small slits in each corner. Some watercolours captioned in English. With an identified "HVM" monogram to some. Contemporary three-quarter dark purple, tanned sheepskin covers, with raised bands and gilt fillets to spine, and cloth sides. Lightly rubbed and worn in places (extremities). Light foxing Watercolours apparently made during a voyage through Switzerland, showing mountains, valleys, lakes, small villages and churches - a few dated [18]59. Some watercolours are captioned in English in pencil on the album leaves. Areas included are: Lucerne, Hospental, Andermatt, Interlaken, Zermatt (with three views of the Matterhorn) and others.
