Contemporary half morocco gilt faded purple cloth; extremities rubbed and worn, marbled endpapers. Three original parts in one volume, folio, 18 hand-coloured lithographed plates of Chinese Life by Snow. Quite a scarce set of plates depicting various Chinese life and character facets. The plates indicate a slightly humourous approach by the author. Coloured plates in order: 1. Costermongers - Victoria St. Hong Kong. 2. A Funeral - Mode of Carrying the Coffin. 3.
