Oblong folio, six hand-coloured plates, unbound as was issued, in new olive coloured wrappers, preserved in a blue morocco cloth box with matching title label to upper cover. Bookplate of 'Norman R. Bobins'. A scarce and beautiful set of plates. Short, who was present at the siege of Quebec, also wrote a book on Nova Scotia. Belle-Isle was a rugged island at the entrance to the Straits of Belle-Isle, which gave access to the St. Lawrence waterway. Coloured plates in order: 1.
