Folio, lithographed title, and nine hand-coloured lithographed plates. Contemporary boards over 1/4 green cloth spine, preserved in a modern green cloth slipcase with a white label to spine. MS inscription to title page: "To Miss Fortescue, with the Author's most respectful and sincere regards." Wightwick was an architect, and his plates included here are of Roman structures. Coloured plates in order: 1. Pantheon. 2. Roman Forum. 3. Arch of Titus. 4. Arch of Constantine. 5. Coliseum. 6. Coliseum - the interior from above. 7. Temple of Vesta & Fortuna Virilis. 8. Tomb of Plautius. 9. Temple of Vesta. 10. View at Tivoli.
