Original cloth binding with gilt title and decorative pictorial upper board, black paneling, and black floral border design. Smooth spine lettered in gilt, with black decoration. Spine slightly 'pulled' and corners 'bumped.' MS inscription to prelim: "Alfred Ratcliffe. A Reward for collecting for The Wesleyan Foreign Missions, Jan 1885." Coloured plates in order: 1. Frontis.
