PIRON, Hippolyte.
An unusual work, decorated with plates engraved on wood by L. Breton, from photographs, representing landscapes of the island and bust portraits of personalities et. The author deals with the various aspects of Cuban society, its ethnic mixture, its customs, Creole or Spanish, its resources, its justice, etc. He is astonished at the importance of the "color prejudice" and rebels at the cruelty of the French on the spot towards their slaves.
