FIRST EDITION of this excessively rare suite of lithographs. Folio (14 1/2" x 10 5/8" - 368 x 270 mm). Ten hand-coloured lithographed plates with over-slip, moveable doors, and windows provide a piquant, behind-the-scenes bit of racy gallantry as secret assignations are revealed. Lithographed by Delaunois. 19th-century quarter green crushed morocco over blue cloth boards. Half green morocco with a morocco title label with gilt lettering on the upper board. Title in gilt to spine. Minor rubbing and wear to spine and corners - else good. Marbled endpapers, original green printed front wrapper. A fine copy. Extremely scarce work covering a fascinating subject. Coloured plates in order: 1. Maman, j'y vais... 2. Elle s'habille. 3. Not captioned. 4. La mere au bal / La fille a la maison (under flap) 5.
