Amable Jourdain (1788-1818) was a French historian and Orientalist, a specialist on Persia, and a student of two leading French Orientalists Louis-Mathieu Langles and Silvestre de Sacy. The plates in this book depict ceremonies, sporting, customs, landscapes, ruins, etc.
