Picturesque Views on the River Wye.
A lovely book extolling the undoubted virtues of the scenes, villages, and towns that populate the River Wye. Samuel Ireland was one of the most successful artists who devoted himself to the career of topographic print-making. In the ten years between 1790 and 1800 he brought out six books of views, containing in all some two hundred and eighty plates, all aquatinted by himself after his own drawings.

8vo. 31 hand-coloured aquatint plates, plus title, beautiful full red gilt calf [by Riviere?] The spine comprises six exquisite gilt compartments, lettered in the second and third compartments. Raised gilt bands, attractive gilt inner dentelles, marbled endpapers, gilt top edge, rule in gilt to boards with gilt motifs to the corners.
