Folio pp. title+ii+one leaf of text for each plate. Half red morocco with ruled gilt to boards, all edges gilt, gilt decoration to spine; ruled gilt raised bands separating the spine into six compartments; lettered in the second and third compartments; matching red cloth slipcase. Some wear to to joints. 50 hand-coloured aquatints within ruled and wash-tinted frames. Brunet: "His (Thomas William's uncle) works are characterised by a great oriental truth and beauty". This work describes and beautifully illustrates the Daniell's long journey to China, and then to India, beginning in The April of 1785 and ending in the August of the same year.
