Previously owned by Paul Gavault with the illustration in colour, squared 8vo., publisher’s pictorial polychrome boards, all edges gilt, minor marginal tear on two leaves. Two unnumbered leaves, half-title, 204 pp., and 17 lithograph plates. Charming edition illustrated with allegorical streams and rivers in France. A nice example of this work and a RARE copy with the plates in two states: one water coloured and gummed, the other in sepia as mentioned in Gumechian’s catalogue.
