The text is a poetic anthology with passages the Khamsa of Nezani, from Khosrow'o Shirin, Haft Peykar, Leili'o Majnun and the Eskandarnameh in Farsi.

Illuminated manuscript on paper, textually incomplete, 141 leaves (lacking chapter headings and sections of text throughout). Single octavo volume (245 x 180 mm), text in four columns , 20 lines in black nasta'liq throughout, 16 illuminated miniatures in the text and one full-page illustration (in a later hand), illustrations with restoration and heavily retouched in places. With an illuminated head-piece opening the first passages of text, many paper restorations to text, some affecting text of illumination, some leaves trimmed; housed in a later blind-stamped leather over pasteboards, central blind-stamped medallion to covers, re-backed and edges repaired. Coloured plates in order: 1. The meeting of Khosrow and Shirin. 2. Bahram Gur in the Pink Pavilion. 3. Bahran Gur in the White Pavilion. 4. Bahram Gur in the Blue Pavilion. 5.
