English Scenery and Antiquity. Six Views of Ludlow Castle...
One of the finest medieval ruins in England. Set in the glorious bustling market town of Ludlow, the castle has superb views over the Shropshire countryside. Published by Richard Lambe, this is the full set of the six views of Ludlow in Shropshire by the British Artist Henry Bryan Ziegler (1798-1874). This set with beautiful original hand colouring, the prints were originally issued each with an accompanying page of text, and a title page.

Folio (15 x 10 3/8 inches) original grey printed wrappers in modern calf-backed boards. Six hand-coloured plates. This set is presumably another version of Abbey # 263, published by H.B. Ziegler. These plates are described as coloured steel engravings but have the appearance of mezzotints. Plates are lightly age-toned. Coloured plates in order: 1. N.W. View of Ludlow Castle. 2. Ludlow Castle.
