RICHTER, C.A. and L. Richter.
Ansichten von Dresden.
Ludwig Richter's father (1803-1884) was a student of A. Zingg (1734-1816) and was strongly influenced by him. In 1810 he became a member of the Academy of Arts in Dresden and later also a professor of engraving there. His drawings and graphics are highly valued for their particular delicacy. The beautiful, wide-margined depictions show different overall views of Dresden.

Eighteen etched plates of Dresden in orig. hand-colouring. Oblong sm. 8vo (193 x 115 mm). Contemporary blue straight-grained morocco, gilt title "Ansichten von Dresden" to spine. Decorative gilt-work to board edges. The spine is slightly rubbed and worn. A work with lovely views (132 x 85 mm) of the city's most remarkable buildings and its surroundings.
