Divan'e Hafez Shirazi, miniature Persian manuscript on paper, probably Qajar Persia, late nineteenth century. A single volume 100 x 58 mm, illuminated Persian manuscript on paper, in Farsi, 232 leaves, incomplete at the end of the text, two illuminated head-pieces, text in two columns throughout. 13 lines in black nasta'liq verging on shekasteh script per page, catch-words throughout, housed in later dark brown morocco over boards. A miniature copy of one of the most celebrated texts in Persian literature. The collected poems of Hafiz Shirazi. This manuscript opens with the 'Ghazalliyat' and features two illustrated head-pieces painted in the late Qajar period's typical gilt and polychrome style.
