Large 8vo, contemporary brown calf, decorated in blind to boards, title and decoration in gilt to spine, all edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. 2 unnumbered leaves, 219 pp., 16 plates, lithographed by Langlum after Collin. "Deval was a native of Constantinople and was attached to the French Embassy of Andreosy as an interpreter. He studied at the interpreter's school in Constantinople between 1825-26".
