Held in 1850 the Exhibition of Ancient and Medieval Art was organised by Augustus Wollaston Franks, this was a display of decorative and beautiful antiquities. Drawn and engraved under the superintendence of Philip De La Motte.

FIRST EDITION. A good copy of the extremely scarce LARGE PAPER issue of this attractive work, but LACKING all text pages, thus having 59 full-page plates and the title vignette of the Order of St George, title and all the plates on vellum and hand-coloured. In a contemporary half morocco binding; all edges gilt; marbled boards with some gilt; rubbed white library numbers to the foot of spine and usual labels to front pastedown and front free endpapers; boards rubbed and worn in places; else very clean with the plates in an attractive state.
