NADAND, Gustave.

132pp. Etched frontis., and uniquely illustrated with 68 stunning original watercolours, executed on the blank pages and the unusually wide margins, very spiritedly depicting amatory and gallant subjects. 12mo, beautifully rebound in 1908 by Canape in full brown crushed levant with multiple gilt fillet borders with exquisite floral corner pieces. Gilt-decorated spine with raised bands, large inner dentelles, and all edges gilt. Original printed wrappers bound-in. A fine example of Canape binding in a matching morocco-tipped slipcase. Fine. SCARCE. One of only 75 copies on JapanPaper. This is a unique copy. OCLC lists only two without these illustrations. Bound by Canape, Paris, c1889. Plates are not captioned.
