Seven wood engravings by Cruikshank; five hand-coloured with three in duplicate, including both the black and white and coloured versions of the plates. 36pp. very slim 12mo; full red polished calf; paneled in gilt; raised bands; black leather spine labels; decorative gilt compartments; original yellow wrappers bound in top edge gilt; gilt fore-edges; gilt inner dentelles. Both joints neatly repaired edges slightly rubbed. Book label "Ubbelohde" to front pastedown. Coloured plates in order: 1. Frontis. "But ladies, use, when you next come, The Schwartzenburgh Hotel." 2. [Elegant dancing scene.] 3. [A crowd making their way home, from a local event, through driving wind and rain.] 4. [Men at dinner, eating and (over) drinking.] 5. [Men enjoying themselves in a tavern.]
