A commemoration of the celebrations for the French-supported Batavian Republic (1795-1806) was held in Amsterdam. These celebrations on 19th June 1795 coincided with the installation of the representatives to the new National Assembly. Most of the hand-coloured illustrations show monuments with allegorical figures. The title page's vignette is signed by the engraver Noach van der Meer the younger (1741-1822).
