8vo. (8 4/8 x 5 4/8 inches). Half-title. Engraved title-page plus 11 engraved plates, all with contemporary hand-colour (some occasional creasing and a few pale stains). Contemporary stiff maroon paper wrappers (spine worn with minor loss). Modern cloth clamshell box. Provenance: The Paul and Marianne Gourary Collection of "Illustrated Fete Books Splendid Ceremonies" with their small bookplate on the front paste-down. FIRST EDITION. A commemoration of the celebrations for the French-supported Batavian Republic (1795-1806) was held in Amsterdam. These celebrations on 19th June 1795 coincided with the installation of the representatives to the new National Assembly. Most of the hand-coloured illustrations show monuments with allegorical figures. The title page's vignette is signed by the engraver Noach van der Meer the younger (1741-1822).
