Most of these very scarce 19th-century views of Moscow and St Petersburg and the surrounding country are by Friedrich Durfeldt after Anthing. Explanatory German text. Anthing was a German officer and biographer of Count Suvarov, known mainly for his silhouettes of famous figures at the Russian Court in the late 18th century.
