Album Amicorum. Charming album amicorum composed towards 1850.
A lovely scrap album representing various subjects, among which are: 20 coloured lithographs by Desmaisons representing everyday life scenes, 18 small coloured lithographs by Jules David picturing life scenes, and 10 lithographed plates by Victor Adam. Some plates have captions, and others have not.

Large folio [565 x 445 mm], (44) ll. with 214 illustrations. Grey bluish paper. Preserved in its contemporary decorated brown morocco binding with decorations in blind and gilt fleurons on boards, decorated flat spine with decorative design in blind, all edges gilt. White silk endpapers. Gilt rolled inner dentelles. Plates were loose in the binding but have been professionally repaired and re-sewn where necessary. A CHARMING 'ALBUM AMICORUM' COMPOSED BY A GENUINE LOVER OF ENGRAVING TOWARDS 1850.
