DANIELL, William (eng).
Capt. Robert Smith (art).
A Series of Eleven Views in Prince of Wales Island, Penang.
Prince of Wales Island is William Daniell's masterpiece. The colouring is of the highest quality and the set is rarely found complete, with most having been dispersed for framing. They would have special interest for William, as he was passionately fond of this part of the world. It is interesting to note that specific mention is made of the fact that the plates are coloured as well as engraved by William Daniell' (Sutton).
