An immaculate red covered Christmas (Weihnachten) German stamp album with decorative gold-type lettering to the spine. Every stamp(s) is on a separate page with a general Christmas heading and explanatory German text beneath. Many stamps feature delightful Walt Disney characters, many illustrations highlight relevant festive stories by Charles Dickens (a Christmas Carol, the Pickwick Papers, the Chimes, the Cricket on the Hearth), plus the wonderful 'Winnie-the-Pooh' story by A.A. Milne (his birth centenary). Well represented are traditional religious, via paintings by Raphael (500th birth anniversary), there some thoroughly modern Christmas stamps issued from Ghana as well a First Day Cover. A much loved English Christmas song/carol is represented by Guernsey with its 'The Twelve Days of Christmas' issue. Highlights include: 1. A series of assorted and much loved Walt Disney characters. 2. A series of assorted and much loved 'Winnie-the-Pooh' characters. 3. Paintings by Raphael. 4. The birth of William the Prince of Wales. 5. Stained glass windows, religious scenes. 7. The Madonna & Child. 8. The birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem.
