Folio, 24 hand-coloured plates (1 folding) in contemporary half red morocco, incorporating original red cloth boards, with gilt letters direct to spine and to upper board. This was the work of Lord Clive of Plassey (Clive of India). Clive was noted for his collection of Mughal art. The plates for this work were collected by Clive, although he had no hand in making the sketches himself. Coloured plates in order: Title page. 1. Sculptures at Nimroud - Lions. 2. Moosul. 3.
