Oblong folio (13 x 18 inches) unbound as issued, preserved in a mid-20th century mottled sheep portfolio by Carmelia of Lisbon. 6 copperplate engravings with full period hand colouring. Armorial bookplate of Walter Homberger. Gilt borders and lettered direct to upper board and spine. Coloured plates in order: Ruins of Lisbon as it appeared immediately after the Earthquake, and Fire, of the 1st Nov 1755. 1. The Church of St. Nicholas. 2. The Patriarchal Square. 3. The Opera House. 4. The Cathedral. 5. St. Roch's Tower, commonly call'd the Patriarch's Tower. 6. St. Paul's Church.
