ERNST II, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
Reise des Herzogs Ernst von Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha nach Aegypten und den Ländern der Habab, Mensa und Bogos.
A 19th-century journey to the Nile, Egypt, and Ethiopia when such a thing was still a grand adventure! Ernst, Duke of Saxe-Coburg, used his wife's diary to prepare the text. Robert Kretschmer accompanied them and lithographed his own drawings for the book. The series of plates are magnificent.
