An attractive collection of Swiss views, mainly from Central Switzerland (Bernese Oberland), but also shows Zurich, the Rhine Falls, and three views of Lake Geneva. The aquatints are mostly engraved by Lukas Weber (1811-60)

[Walk through the most interesting places in Switzerland] Oblong folio (327 x 240 mm). Contemp. half calf binding with gilt-stamped cover title "Schweitz," fresh leather spine in gilt, and corners strengthened. and Rudolf Bodmer (1805-41, cf. Th./B. IV, 170) after drawings by Salomon Corrodi (1810-92) and other landscape painters. All but three of the views collected here were published by Friedrich Salomon Fussly (1802-49), grandson of Henry Fuseli (the others were published by Birmann & Son in Basel or without a publisher's statement). The present set is mainly taken from the work sold under the above title (50 views).
