Second edition. Small 4to, xii, [2] 376pp., 7 hand coloured aquatint plates, engraved folding map, modern 3/4 red morocco over red cloth boards; ruled in black raised bands to spine; lettered in gilt to spine; top edge gilt. Bookplate of 'Ernest Gordon Appleford Lett' to front free endpaper. MS signature 'H. Spottiswoode' to tile page. Miss Tully was either the sister or sister in law of Richard Tully, Consul in Tripoli from 1783-1793. The work is particularly interesting for details of the domestic life of the Harem.
