[Illuminated Manuscript]. Ejecutoria de Idolguia de la familia de Valderrama.
Produced during the reign of King Philip, these patents of nobility were extremely popular in Spain and many still exist in their original bindings and can be found in good condition. It would appear that the more significant and wealth the family, the more elaborate and special the examples were.

Folio. Bound in contemporary full red velvet. Boards and (especially) spine are worn in places. Evidence of a missing applied decorative panel on the upper board. Original endpapers, entire contents are on vellum. Approximately 125 leaves, two full page miniatures at the beginning with one portraying the Holy Virgin with the patrons and grantees kneeling before her. The miniatures are finely done and in excellent condition. Several illuminated initials, original silk plate tissues still present. Red ruled vellum pages with beautiful Spanish calligraphy. Some vellum pages toned in comparison with others. Overall, a fine example. Coloured plates in order: 1. 'Don Philippe'. - Holy Virgin with the patrons and grantees kneeling before her.
