Decorative manuscript flower book, title set on a scroll with floral surround, a dedicatory poem set in a floral garland, and 47 full-page watercolours of English garden flowers, each lettered with their common name and occasionally with their Latin names.

Small 4to (290 x 220mm). Original red morocco, exquisitely panelled and titled in gilt to upper board. "Flowers copied from Nature by Miss Emma A. Heely." All edges gilt. Condition: some light spotting to tissue guards, a slight damp stain to the upper margin of the first six leaves. The spine and hinges have been expertly repaired. Provenance: Miss A Heely (binding). A very unique and attractive Victorian flower book of English Garden Flowers drawn up by a gifted and talented (amateur) young lady, presumably based on specimens from her garden. The beautiful flowers include roses, honeysuckle, petunia, love-in-the-mist, tulips, and dahlias. Coloured plates in order: 1. Title page. 2.
