Beautiful Riviere binding of turquoise morocco with large gilt floral spray with red inlays; inner dentelles in gilt; Upper board professionally re-attached using a matching dyed leather at outer hinges. Original colour pictorial wrapper bound in. Les Peches Capitaux. coloured frontispiece table, a further eight coloured plates. Limited edition. This work is number 150 of 175 copies on vein du Marais. Previously unpublished poems by various poets, including Emile Verhaeren and Henri de Regnier, are printed in green within art nouveau floral borders, of which the colour changes from page to page. Typography by Draeger Freres. Henry Detouche illustrates a playful interpretation of the seven deadly sins with nine Symbolist colour etchings, of which seven are full-page, with additional hand colouring in watercolour and metallic paint. Detouche was a painter, engraver, and lithographer, a member of the 'Societe des Artistes Francais' who exhibited at the salons of the Society.
