A rare album of Indian sketches on mica that includes: 11 Indian birds, 76 Indian musicians, dancers, acrobats, tamers, artisans, and merchants. All illustrations are richly coloured, and the series offers a poetic and idyllic representation of the Indian world in the 19th Century.

Plein maroquin rouge d'époque illustré d'une peinture sur chaque plat, tranches dorées, avec fermoirs dorés (l'un d'eux défaillant). 1 oblong vol. in-folio, 87 coloured paintings on mica mounted in frames. Contemporary red morocco, each covered with mica illustration inset, blind-stamped edges, and gilded clasps (one restored). A remarkable copy of this traditional Indian work.
