The Roman Missal (Latin: Missale Romanum) is the title of several missals used in the celebration of the Roman Rite. Along with other liturgical books of the Roman Rite, the Roman Missal contains the texts and rubrics for the celebration of the most common liturgy and Mass of the Catholic Church.

Luxury copy, with engravings hand-coloured and heightened in gold, bound in full ornamented morocco by Lortic Freres. Cross in gilt and in blind, repeat initial gilt motifs to corners, patterned in blind to boards, all edges gilt, raised bands to spine, lettered and numbered in gilt, repeat initials and patterned in blind to five compartments. Maroon silk doubleurs, gilt inner dentelles, marbled paper prelims. Full maroon morocco. There were numerous gilt initial letters, miniatures in gilt and silver, and other lavish ornamentation. A truly beautiful work, of the highest class, in near fine condition. **Because the work contains so many illustrations, only a fraction of them are illustrated.** Some colour plates: 1.
